The Koenigsegg Regera development car has been shipped to England today in preparation for its appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The Regera will be on static display only, while the One:1 will take on the famous Goodwood hillclimb.
The Regera that has been shipped to Goodwood is our development car and has just started doing its shakedown runs. As such, the Regera won’t be taking on the hillclimb this year. However, we do intend for it to flex its muscles at next year’s hillclimb. Still, a lucky few might catch a glimpse of the Regera driving into the Festival of Speed and experience the Regera’s interesting mix of combustion and electrical propulsion.
Last week, Christian posted this short clip to Koenigsegg on Instagram showing some of the electric motor testing we continue to do.
Since Geneva, the Regera has spent most of its time in varying states of disassembly and reassembly here at the factory. The design and build sequences are complete and the vehicle is now in testing. There’s a new Regera about to commence production at our factory – it’s our crash-test vehicle – and some time after that we will commence construction of customer cars for delivery in 2016.
Before that, however, we have the Goodwood Festival of Speed and last night I took these photos of the last-minute work that went into getting the Koenigsegg Regera ready for the big show.
